Scottish Birds

Wading Birds Sheltering Together

These pictures of wading birds and ducks were taken at a pond near the shores of the Forth, just outside Edinburgh.

Normally the wading birds like the Godwits, Oyster Catchers and Redshanks would have been down on the seashore, but due to the very high tides, they were all forced up to the ponds.

They all seemed quite tolerant of each other, with the usual residents of Teal ducks and Wigeons quite happy to share with all the incomers.

There was even a pheasant in the mix.
