Whisky Barrels

Whisky barrels play a major part in how the final whisky product tastes.

Barrels can previously have contained,  bourbon, sherry or port etc.

The raw spirit then spends 10 or more years maturing in the barrel where it develops its final flavours.

Sometimes the whisky will spend a long period in say a bourbon barrel, and will then be "finished" in a port or sherry barrel.
