Kirkwall

Kirkwall is the largest town and capital of Orkney.
Historically, the Orkney islands have strong Norse connections and building of St Magnus Cathedral was begun in 1137 by the Norse Earl Rogenvald.
The remains of St Magnus are entombed inside one of the pillars of the cathedral.
