Inverness is a city in the North East of Scotland and in fact is the most Northern Scottish city.
It makes a great centre for exploring the north of the country.
Nearby is the battlefield of Culloden where the Jacobite forces in the 1745 rebellion were defeated.
The River Ness flows through the city and is a fine salmon river.
