Dolphins
Around the Scottish coast, several species of dolphins can be spotted, with the most common being the bottlenose dolphin, known for its playful behavior and distinctive curved dorsal fin.
The short-beaked common dolphin, with its striking hourglass pattern on its sides, can occasionally be observed, particularly in the warmer months.
The photographs of the common dolphin were taken from the ferry coming back from South Uist.
The bottlenose dolphins were very far out in the river Forth, and photographed from pettycur bay harbour. Poor pictures but the only ones I have of bottlenose dolphins.
