Scottish Parliament Building
The Scottish Parliament building - you either love it or hate it!
With the advent of devolution, the newly formed Scottish Government needed a new home in which to conduct their business.
Designed by the Spanish architect Enric Miralles, the building was three years late and hugely over budget by the time it was completed.
Unfortunately, Mirales died before it was completed and his wife took over the project.
Situated at the foot of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, opposite the Palace of Holyrood, it can't fail to make an impression - one way or another.
An architect friend thinks it is a masterpiece, whilst a visitor I was showing around Edinburgh thought it was the bus station.
I'm saying nothing.
