Wojtek the bear
Wojtek the bear belonged to a polish army unit during WWII. When the war ended, in order to take Wojtek with them to Scotland, the Poles officially drafted him into the army as a private.
Eventually he was given to Edinburgh Zoo where he lived until his death in 1963
This is the statue of Wojtek in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh - looking a bit chilly with the snow on his nose!
